Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold butter3/4 cup cold milkMelted butter
Directions:
Position rack in the center of the oven.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Set aside a large ungreased baking sheet.
In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until flour mixture resembles small peas.
Stir in milk until dry ingredients are just moistened. With lightly floured hands, gather biscuit dough into a ball. Gently knead in bowl, 5 to 10 times. Makes a soft dough.
Turn homemade biscuit dough onto a lightly floured board. Roll out to 1/3" thickness. Cut with 2" cutter. Place biscuits about 1" apart on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake whole wheat biscuits in oven until golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes.
